页岩油气勘探开发装备制造中试基地首次将地质勘探与油气装备制造融合，是产学研用的一大创新，是推动重大理论和技术创新成果转化的重要桥梁和产业链创新链深度融合的重要环节。石化机械公司将承担页岩油气勘探开发装备制造中试基地建设任务，围绕页岩油气勘探开发“提质、提效、降本、绿色环保”主题，瞄准装备标准化、自动化、数字化、智能化目标，打造国内一流的页岩油气勘探开发装备研发制造、试验检测技术及人才聚集高地。

以油田企业为主体的生产应用示范基地的设立，对推进页岩油气全国重点实验室高水平一体化协同创新，攻克页岩油气勘探开发关键核心技术，打造科技领军人才团队，促进创新链产业链深度融合，实现我国页岩油气绿色高效经济规模开采具有重要意义。
