EIA: US Oil Output Down 250,000 B/D in May

US oil output fell by about 250,000 barrels/day in May from April to 8.75M b/d, the EIA says in its short-term energy outlook out. The agency leaves its US production forecasts unchanged, calling for average output to fall from 9.4M b/d last year to 8.6M b/d this year and 8.2M b/d next year. Production is now down by about 1M b/d from its multidecade peak in April 2015.
