目前，公司拥有66亿吨资源储量，原煤产能达4890万吨/年。公司主导产品有焦煤、肥煤、1/3焦煤、瘦煤、气肥煤、贫煤等全系列煤种，其中强粘焦煤和肥煤均为世界稀缺资源，具有低灰、低硫、低磷、粘结性强、结焦性好等特性，是大型钢厂大高炉不可或缺的骨架炉料。

近年来，公司聚焦炼焦煤主业。炼焦煤是钢铁工业重要的原材料，是冶炼环节不可或缺的战略资源，具有不可替代性。据统计，在世界煤炭已探明的储量中，炼焦煤所占比重很低。全球炼焦煤储量占煤炭总量的约10%，我国炼焦煤储量占国内煤炭总量的近20%，高于世界平均水平一倍，但仅有670亿吨左右，其中最优质的焦煤、肥煤储量只有210亿吨，已经被国家发改委列为特殊和稀缺资源。山西焦煤作为焦煤集团旗下唯一的炼焦煤资源整合平台，具有独特的资源优势、煤种优势和发展后劲。

山西焦煤近日还在投资互动平台介绍，2024年一季度相比2023年四季度，公司焦精煤、肥精煤长协价上涨200元/吨。
